There is a very important (and free) seminar happening at Hair Expo this weekend, as attendees will discover how they, as hairdressers, can help clients experiencing family violence. The seminar, taking place at 3pm on Monday June 11 at the expo, presents a panel of guests to lead hairdressers in doing their part and using their unique position to help those in need.
“Hairdressers really do have the power to put clients on the right track to a happier life,” said event organiser Leanne Cutler. “Seeing the bruises or learning of a client’s horrific situation is not an everyday occurrence but when it happens, being prepared to know how to respond and what to do next could change or even save a life.”
The event will showcase panellists such as Natasha King, Zoe Wilde, Jenni Tarrant, Amelia Stone from the Safe Steps 24 hour helpline and the HAIR-3R trainers from the Eastern Domestic Violence Service (EDVOS), gaining insights from their experiences helping those facing family violence.
The seminar is free but requires advanced booking on the Hair Expo website, and donations for the Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre which offers a 24/7 assistance to those who require it will be greatly appreciated.
The first 50 guests in the door will receive a sustainable Boomerang Bang with surprising goodies inside.
