Goldwell guest artist John Pulitano, creative director and cofounder of Headcase Hair, created two unique looks for Tigerlily’s ‘Aloha State’ Resort 2020 Collection looks. He looked to the past for inspiration with a nod to 40s and 50s Hollywood stars, like the famous by Lauren Bacall, an American actress known for her distinctive voice and sultry looks.
The first look was “vintage beach girl glam”.
“We added a bit of glam with a soft wave at the front inspired by Lauren Bacall,” John said. “It’s high glamour meets beachy texture.”
The result was a coiffed waterfall hair that was wet with texture and high on detail. To achieve this, John explained he needed to use generous amounts of Goldwell’s new texture hero Curly Twist Surf Oil for the ultimate “wet look” that was more about “strength” than “fluff”.
“That wet look gives it strength, rather than that fluffy look,” he explained. “We’re giving it a bit of toughness. Surf Oil gives the hold of a surf spray with the shine and moisture of an oil without weighing down the hair.”
The next look he created for Tigerlily, a brand which returned to the runway for the first time in 17 years , was one that showcased their new accessories range.
It was the same as the first hair created, except John then added a “half up, half down” uneven braid. He then added hair clips, and some more hair clips.
“The more the better,” he said.
The result was a glamorous beach vibe, inspired by the holiday buzz of 1960s. For the label’s comeback show, 1000 Hour lash director Melanie Burnicle adorned models with dainty and natural looking eyelashes in collaboration with makeup artist Lara Karamian for Lancôme.
