Aussie colour foils company Foil Me have been recognised for their outstanding business practices and innovative company mentality, being named as a finalist in the South Australian Small & Succeeding category at the 2019 Telstra Business Awards. The ground-breaking brand, founded by Adelaide based husband and wife team Iliano & Emily Ciardiello, has grown their business 1000 per cent in revenue since their 2014 launch.
“Becoming a finalist for SA means so much more to us than just an award – SA is my home state and we haven’t established ourselves as clearly as in other states (and even countries), so to receive this recognition and to be chosen out of thousands of other businesses in SA, is huge! We are just so grateful to our Foil Me lovers,” Emily said.
“Foil Me started as a passion to help hairdressers, but it has become so much more than that – it’s now a community for hairdressers and I absolutely love that we have become, in a way, a safe haven or a company that our Foil Me lovers can rely on.”
Foil Me is now stocked by over 10,000 salons globally, with international distribution into the USA, Canada, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sweden and the UK.
“Within the awards, we believe there are several categories of the criteria that set us apart, however, innovation would have to be the stand out,” Emily said. “Much of Foil Me’s success is due to our innovation – we continually improve and listen to feedback to evolve and develop not only our products but the unique service that we deliver so that hairdressers and our stockists not only have an easier life, but a more successful and happy one too!”
Since 2014, Foil Me has appointed brand ambassadors from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and the UK. These include Sheree Knobel of Bixie Colour (Australia), colour specialist Amiee Marie (New Zealand), blonde expert Tressa Yanchuk (Canada), hairdresser and colourist Craig Purves (the UK) and blonde and balayage expert Evan Stowers (USA). The company has also collaborated with Sheree, Jayde Edwards of Edwards and Co, Mia De Vries of The Fox & the Hair and Evan Stowers of The Desert Lounge in the US on specialised, custom foil collections.
Additionally, since 2018, the brand have partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation as corporate partners, raising both money and awareness for the cause and utilizing their campaigns to make a difference.
“As a small, vibrant and young team, to be recognised in the small business awards is a big achievement in our eyes, due to our daily passion and drive to make the lives of those in the hairdressing world easier,” the team said. “This nomination is a tribute to our many Foil Me lovers around the world. It’s also wonderful to see the hard-work and commitment of our co-owners, Emily and Ili, be recognised at this level! We’re so excited!!”
The event will be held on September 12 where Foil Me will be in contention to be named as winners. Congratulations on this important honour as they continue to innovate, expand, grow and go from strength to strength.
