The muk Curl Stick has been a cult hot styling tool for a number of years now, but now muk fans can rejoice – the original curl stick has had a makeover and is back, better than ever. Media and influencers were given the chance to try firsthand the brand new muk Curl Stick V2.0 at exclusive Potts Point salon Our Place Sydney.
Salon co-founder and muk global artistic ambassador, Clive Allwright, was on hand to wash, dry and style the tresses of all attendees using the new tool. Clive, an internationally renowned hairstylist that has travelled the world working with some of the biggest brands over his 30 year career, said he was such a huge fan of muk because they were “the only Australian haircare company that does colour, styling, retail and electrical”.
As global ambassador, Clive was part of the muk Curl Stick V2.0 testing panel, and has had access to the new tool for almost 12 months, although it officially launched only earlier this month.
He said the new tool was “incredible” as it contained lots of new features that made it easier for both the hair professional and consumer to use.
Some of these new features include five temperature settings as opposed to three, which meant it could even be used to style synthetic hair, four interchangeable barrels as opposed to three and a microprocessor that checked and adjusted the temperature 50 times per second to ensure the exact selected temperature was maintained at all times.
The most unpopular barrel, the 9-19mm conical has been removed, as Clive said consumers were not after “corkscrew curls” these days, and instead were after soft, flowy, bouncy curls. The two new barrels include a 28-22mm wedge barrel and 38-27 oval barrel, which can be used for creating anything from beach waves to glamorous curls.
Clive highlighted the ease of using the interchangeable barrel system, which offered hair stylists quick changeover options when using them in a salon environment.
The muk haircare range will also be undertaking a complete revamp in 2020, with packaging adopting a cleaner, fresher more modern look.
