With fashion looks from JAM and Christina Stephens, Adaptive Clothing Collective made its way to the runway on day three of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, partnering with AAFW’s official hair sponsor Redken to champion true inclusivity, writes Ashleigh Matheson.

The show was a celebration of underrepresented bodies, with a focus on fashion-forward garments that are wheelchair accessible and inclusive for disabled bodies.
Complementing the garments and show ethos, hair director Justin Pace created signature hair looks that worked to enhance the natural beauty of the models.

“Middle parts with soft bouncy waves and an ’effortless’ loose natural look were the highlights for the show, along with natural sleek groomed hair for men,” Justin said.
Justin’s key products were Redken’s Quick Blow Out, Wind Blown Dry Finishing Spray and Forceful 23 Anti Frizz Hairspray.

Justin details these wearable looks below.
Get the look – Look One:
Step 1: Start with Redken Quick Blow Out to prepare the hair.
Step 2: Starting with a middle part and using a large round brush to make it smooth, work in Redken Blowdry Gel to create a polished but not too slick look, tucking one side behind the ear.
Step 3: Finish with Redken Triple Take 32 Extreme Hold to keep flyaways in check.
Get the look – Look Two:
Step 1: Start with Redken Quick Blow Out giving body and texture to the hair.
Step 2: Starting with a middle part using a medium round brush horizontally, not vertically to give the hair the maximum body.
Step 3: Finish with Redken Wind Blown Dry Finishing Spray layered with Redken Forceful 23 Anti Frizz Hairspray.
