The world was left shocked and in mourning as global entertainment icon Olivia Newton-John passed away and left an indelible legacy in a range of different fields. The Australian beauty landscape was affected in this too, as Byron Bay beauty brand Retreatment Botanics, of which Olivia was a co-founder, mourned her passing.
“What a divine woman to grace this planet and my heart. How lucky am I to have had Olivia’s guiding love and friendship throughout the creation of Retreatment Botanics,” said Co-founder and Managing Director, Trudi Jaye. “You will be dearly missed, yet your shining light continues to be our inspiration. Your vision and passion lives on through our skincare as we continue your legacy to nurture beautiful, healthy skin and that deeper confidence that comes from loving and nourishing yourself.”
“She was such a special person, a beloved Australian icon and an outspoken champion of wellness, cancer research, the environment and animal rights. It was a privilege to have been her friend, and it’s a privilege to continue our important work in her honour,” Trudi continued.
Olivia was passionate about innovative, effective, clean, organic skincare, leading to her role in the creation of Retreatment Botanics. The products are certified as palm oil free, vegan, and animal cruelty free., speaking to Olivia’s values.
“Olivia believed we don’t need to harm our bodies or the planet to have beautiful skin. We’re devastated by her passing and are committed to Retreatment Botanics staying true to our shared values,” Trudi said.
“Retreatment Botanics has been created without compromise,” Olivia shared about the brand when it launched in 2019. “Firstly, we knew that the products had to be toxic-free and made with the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. It was also important they were vegan and cruelty free, as well as palm-oil free. Secondly, we worked closely with leading scientists, and we are so proud to have achieved formulas that are truly effective and also meet our high standards. These were non-negotiables for me. I wanted it to have as minimal impact on our planet as possible, while at the same time delivering real and noticeable skincare results. Retreatment Botanics is so close to my heart. I have witnessed its very real results on my own skin, and it is amazing.”
Olivia is mourned by Trudi and the brand’s fellow directors, Gregg Cave, Ruth Kalnin and Warwick Evans, as well as the beauty industry at large and the world.
Vale Olivia Newton-John.
