Foil Me have unveiled their newest product, launching soon on October 3, as The Starry Night. The new foil design is inspired Vincent van Gogh’s post-impressionist works, and is illustrated with swirling brushstrokes and a moody colour palette.
The collection was illustrated by Foil Me Co-Owner and Creative Director, Emily Ciardiello, and brought to life by Graphic Designer, Chelsea Winter. Made to look like a gallery wall, the aesthetic is built in a blue and orange colour palette with flecks of gold. The design evokes a sweeping landscape of light and dark, and depth and dimension.
“Ever since high school, I have been fascinated with van Gogh and his art. Never before had I seen art that showcased so much emotion and contrast between each piece,” Emily shared. “With this collection, I’ve endeavoured to emanate how his paintings make me feel and hopefully our Foil Me Movers feel that too when they are foiling with this collection.”
“Hairdressers are artists and by creating a Starry Night rendition where the gold flecks were ridiculously difficult and costly to include, we hope to reinforce this message and provide our Movers with what they deserve – more. It’s like an art installation where the colourist is actually a part of the art – the foils themselves are not the completed artwork, it is only with the expertise of the hairdresser and their foiling skills that the art is crafted.”
The collection features Foil Me’s signature embossing and exclusive foil composition and is available in the brand’s two most popular sixes, The Original and The Wide.
