O&M and Bec + Bridge were harbour-side at Australian Fashion Week as these renowned, luxury brands took over Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay.
A soft textural hair look from hair director and O&M ambassador John Pulitano of Headcase Hair enhanced the collection.
“The inspiration behind the collection was from the ancient craft of metalwork and the evolution of the Bec + Bridge girl, so we offset that by creating soft hair looks, enhancing natural textures and keeping the hair smooth and anchored,” John said. “The collection is raw and sharp, which works so well with the naturally soft undone hair we have achieved. There is a synergy between the harder elements of the collection and the softness of the hair.”
“There’s a lot of metallics and a metallic theme coming through, and I feel like the clothes are really about embodying a femininity with beautiful shapes and pieces with beautiful, big baggy jeans, tank tops and an element of futurism to it as well,” John continued. “So, we just wanted to work with natural texture but at the same time, but we didn’t really want to make it too beautiful. We’re trying to keep a very streamlined finish, everything’s tucked behind the eras, it’s very straight.”
Designers Bec Cooper and Bridget Yorston created a collection comprised of elevated separates, sartorial staples, striking evening wear and signature party dresses all presented on an ideal day in front of the majestic Sydney Harbour.
“This season, the Bec + Bridge girl has evolved. The core DNA is refreshed with new silhouettes and colourways that elevate her style with a particular energy: modern and refined,” the duo said. “In Resort 24/25, fabric is not simply woven fibres, but a vehicle for expression. Each piece is sculpted to accentuate and embrace the form, following its curves and contours with clothing that mimics the malleability of molten metal.”
The brand’s Atonic Thickening Spritz was the hero product for starchiness with a bit of hold for a clean hair vibe that was smooth and effortlessly undone, while the O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hair Spray was another key tool.
