DCI Education have awarded their heralded DCI Education Scholarship, known as the Hair Heroes Scholarship, for 2024, naming Mitch Michaels from Koda Cutters and Anthony La from Oscar Oscar Salons as this year’s winners, as an acknowledgement of their skill and dedication in hair.
“Mitch and Anthony exemplify the qualities we seek in our scholarship winners: talent, passion, and a relentless drive to excel. We are thrilled to support their journeys and look forward to witnessing their continued growth and success in the industry,” shared DCI Education founder and hairdressing legend Dario Cotroneo. “DCI Education is not just about great hair education – we’re about supporting great people.”
The education institution is known to elevate hairdressers through bold education and mentorship, with Dario at the helm, and the scholarship ensures these students can gain insights and upskill from this industry stalwart to propel their careers. The scholarship will further their creativity and techniques, while helping them push the boundaries in their craft. The scholarship gives both hairdressers complimentary access to Dario’s wealth of knowledge and experience via exclusive workshops, one-on-one mentoring sessions and hands-on training, across both hair and client relationship skills.
The Hair Heroes Scholarship is in honour of late hairdressing legends Dennis Langford, Sharon Maher, Frank Burgemeestre, and Gino Fossano, marking their huge contribution to the hair industry by continuing the legacy of hair and investing in young talents who act as the future of hairdressing.
