The seventh year of the International Hairdressing Awards is underway, with the 2025 iteration of the competition open as of September 18, with entries closing on January 2014, and the awards gala to take in the first half of next year, with a date still to be announced.
Every global hairdresser can sign up and take part in the awards, by uploading their photographic collections, to be comprised of four images of four different hair looks, online. The entry process requires professional photography and high res imagery, with all registration and the entire entry process completed online.
Categories in this esteemed platform include Best International Men’s Collection, Best International Women’s Collection and Best International Avant-Garde Collection, which are all open to every hairdresser. International Hairdresser of the Year, International Artistic Team of the Year and International Film & TV Hairdresser of the Year require a pre-selection to take part.
This year’s awards gala took place in Lisbon, Portugal, after the international winners were selected and awarded in their home countries on an international tour by Mikel Luzea, director and founder, and Sergi Bancells, global ambassador, to congratulate the victors. Australia’s own legendary hair icon Sharon was honoured with the title of International Hair Legend, while TONI&GUY’s Global Creative Director, Cos Sakkas, won the pinnacle title of International Hairdresser of the Year for the third year in a row, becoming the first winner to secure this hattrick. Almost 500 collections were entered from 32 countries in the 2024 iteration of the competition.
