Mariam Seddiq made its debut at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week (AAFW), with their Resort 23 collection, where the hair by ghd and O&M was equally as extravagant as the gowns, writes Ashleigh Matheson.
From endless trains to retro-glam hair looks, the show was full of drama!
With ghd and O&M as professional hair partners, hair director Natalie Anne lead the pack backstage.
“Today’s look was actually inspired by a silhouette that Mariam Seddiq kept sketching,” Natalie revealed. “I couldn’t really make the connection between the modern collection and the strong Mariam Seddiq girl with the soft finger waved references that I was getting in the brief, so we ended up reverse engineering the look and it was beautiful.”
She added, “it was this silhouette that she kept sketching and couldn’t get out of her head, so I custom-made all of the wefts. It took probably around four to five weeks to prep. We colour matched all the girls using the O&M Clean Liquid and then coloured the wefts and created the shape that she (Mariam Seddiq) kept sketching. Each one of the models has a different sort of positioning and they chose their own parts because I wanted them to feel sexy and strong, because that’s the Mariam Seddiq girl.”
The hero products included O&M’s Dessert Dry and Queenie, as well as ghd’s hair tools and Shiny Ever After shine spray.
