The Australian Hair Industry Awards (Business) have named their 2024 finalists, announcing nominees across hairdressing and salon excellence, education, top-tier products and beyond. The awards have been running since 2014, extending to a creative iteration as well, and growing in their acknowledgement of hair business.
The AHIA Business entries were judged by an independent panel of international and national judges, including industry, media and PR professionals, as well as business experts in fields of architecture, finance and more. The product categories are judged without knowledge of brand, country of manufacture or ingredients for complete transparency. The judging panel included names such as Alexandra Bilisi, Charlotte Grant-West, Faye Murray, Joanne Charlton, Kirstie Stafford, Narelle Lancaster and Nicole Healy.
In a host of categories, products are assessed across care, treat, style and electrical, while salon team members, managers, directors, owners, teams and sole operators are additionally recognised. Categories also acknowledge newcomers, business performance, environmental impact, salon design, marketing and customer care. The awards also honour salon business and wholesalers across state locales, as well as training and education in various categories. The national wholesaler and salon business awards, Special Recognition Award and Vidal Sassoon Humanitarian of the Year award will all be named on the night.
Sponsors for the event include Redken, Kitomba, Sustainable Salons, Salon Lane, Fresha, Matrix, CPR, Schwarzkopf Professional, Goldwell, Kerasilk, L’Oréal Professionnel, Happy Hair Brush, Shortcuts, DNA Organics, EVY Professional, Comfortel, Hi Lift Professional, Alfaparf Milano Professional, Inspire Brands/Gamma+ and Wella Professionals.
“Every year these awards act as a testament to the way that our hair industry both values and strives to exceed quality benchmarks, with the calibre of submissions continuing to wow our judges,” said Mocha Group Owner and Founder, Linda Woodhead. “With increasing pressures on our local service businesses, these awards recognise those who continue to have life-changing impacts on their clients and communities, and they deserve to be celebrated.”
The winners will be announced at The Star, Gold Coast, on Sunday October 20, with a hair and fashion show choreographed by event stalwart and creative director Adam Williams.
Congratulations to all the nominees, listed below.
