Box Hill Institute has embarked on an important partnership with the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC), which will allow its students to gain international qualifications. Graduating hairdressing, barbering, makeup and beauty students can be assessed by this body to gain international recognition in 33 countries, with their qualification recognised in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK among other destinations.
The institute is now an ITEC Centre, where an official examiner will visit to assess candidates’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills to qualify for this opportunity.
“ITEC will ensure that applicants meet the international standards of registered countries,” explained Box Hill Institute’s Head of Hair and Beauty, Ruth Browne. “We are extremely pleased that Box Hill Institute is the first TAFE in Australia to become an ITEC Centre. Having an ITEC qualification is impressive on a CV and of course, opens opportunities for graduating students to work overseas.”
ITEC is the largest international examination board in Hairdressing and Beauty and their diplomas are internationally renowned. This qualification can open up your career to development, travel and adventure – take that necessary first step with Box Hill.
