Dyson have unveiled a new iteration of their recently launched Airstrait™ 2-in-1 wet-to-dry styler, with the tool now available in limited edition Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold. The tool innovates by using air, not hot plates, to style hair, having launched earlier in 2024, and this new colourway option speaks to its global success.
The Airstrait™ prides itself on preserving hair strength, reducing breakage and protecting hair’s natural shine by not relying on extreme temperatures to style, with the tool winning a coveted spot in TIME’s 2023 Best Invention Award.
The tool is built so that the hair tress is contained by two arms, from which a precisely angled high-pressure blade of air is forced downwards and into the hair for drying and straightening, and from which two 1.5mm apertures accelerate the airflow. Projected at a 45° angle, this converges to form one focused jet of air in a downward motion, which helps aligns strands of hair.

Intelligent Temperature Control, Root Dry Mode and Pause Detect are other essential features. The tool’s Wet mode has three heat settings, Dry mode has two heat settings and a top up boost, while there are two speed settings for airflow control, alongside a cold shot and root drying mode. The tool also promises volume and movement in its finishes.
The Airstrait™ is powered by the light and powerful Hyperdymium™ motor and aided by a 13-blade impeller that spins up to 106,000rpm, propelling over 11.9 litres of air through the machine per second. This generates up to 3.5kPa of air pressure to straighten and dry hair at the same time. The motor smartly fits into the handle at just 27mm in size.
The ability to style and dry simultaneously through powerful and controlled airflow saves clients and professional hairdressers up to 25 per cent of their time in the styling process, when compared against using a hair dryer and then a straightener.
“Having a strong understanding of how to manipulate and realise the potential of powerful airflow is fundamental to the performance of the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener. This expertise, which we’ve gained over the last 25 years, is what has enabled us to deliver our first wet to dry straightener, with no hot plates, and no heat damage. Delivering the ease-of-use that people love about straighteners but with high-velocity air blades, saves time, maintains hair strength and achieves an everyday natural straight style,” shared James Dyson, Founder and Chief Engineer.
The new colourway has arrived at the ideal time for the holiday gifting season – start dropping hints to your loved ones.
