Elite Hair Education Unveil Elite Scissors

Welcome a range of premium, specialist scissors, launched in 2022 by industry leaders Kylie and Mick Dwyer of Elite Hair Education. The range is designed with high quality steel combined with ergonomic handle design for a durable build that caters to the demands of professional hairdressing.

The scissors are created from the Dwyers’ decades of experience, as the pair worked with global scissor designers and manufacturers to unveil a complete range of tools. Kylie utilised her practical knowledge of tool use to work closely with bladesmiths to design the range, in a way that achieves the best haircutting results for the client, whilst being ergonomically beneficial for the hairdresser. The tools have considered the hairdresser in every facet, from the finger rest to the thumb holes, the shaft and the scissor blade.

The Elite Scissors premium range consists of five specialised scissors including General Purpose, Blunt Cutter, Thinners, Slicers, and Texturizers, with the kit completed by a razor, complemented by a comfortable, practical genuine leather holster, designed by Kylie, which houses the full scissor range plus razor and comb.

The scissor range caters to versatile cutting needs. The General Purpose scissor is designed for layering all lengths of hair and allows for perfect tension when cutting the foundation of a precision haircut, with a pointed tip that ensures excellent control when point cutting and personalising parameters.

The Blunt Cutter has an ergonomic design that protects the wrist, shoulders and thumb, with a blade that allows no push from the hair for blunt and solid haircuts, ensuring there’s no need to chase the hair when performing scissor over comb, long haircuts and bobs.

The Thinners have V teeth to reduce any pull or drag on the hair when used for thinning and removing bulk from the mid lengths. Premium steel blades ensure hardness, edge retention, sharpness and corrosion resistance, as merged with an ergonomic design that reduces strain and tiredness in the arms and hands.

The Slicers have a bamboo leaf shaped blade to face frame, debulk and add texture. The stationary blade has variable sharpness and glides easily over the hair shaft to control how much hair is removed. When the hair is loaded into the back of the blade closest to the swivel, the blade is softer, becoming sharper when glided to the tip of the blade, with more seamless results the more parallel the blade is to the hair.

The Texturizers are used as creative scissors to add texture and movement to the haircut and can be used on a right angle to the hair on mid-lengths to create texture in the haircut and body at the root area. The Texturizer saves time on personalisation for men’s and women’s cuts, and creates more texture in the haircut when used parallel to the hair on the ends.
