It’s officially October and, as such, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with a flurry of pink about to hit your feeds and your shelves for a very good cause. Australian premier pre-cut foil company Foil Me™ will continue it’s support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) as a Corporate Partner through their Pink October and its ‘Wise Up In Pink’ Campaign, created to raise awareness and fundraising for breast cancer research.
In addition to making a donation from each of their iconic #1-selling PINK foils -The Knobel collection – sold during October, Foil Me™ has also created an exclusive pink ribbon foil to increase awareness and raise even more funds called The BCR and The BCR – Wide. $1 from each packet sold will also be donated to the NBCF. The organisation is also encouraging salons and offices to go pink throughout October, and particularly on October 18.
“This year is extremely exciting with the movement really picking up momentum and many high profile salons joining our initiative and supporting both Foil Me and the NBCF,” said Foil Me co-owner and Creative Director, Emily Ciardiello.
“We have over 170 salons and businesses involved already! Since mid-August, we have been encouraging the hairdressing community to join us in our Wise Up in Pink and Pink October campaign, raising awareness and funds for such a worthwhile cause; one that is close to our hearts and many of our clients/colleagues in the hairdressing industry.”
The campaign targets a disease that will affect one in eight women and one in approximately 700 men in their lifetime, not to mention their loved ones and support networks.
“Every year we look to exceed the previous year’s salon participation numbers, and of course to exceed our goal of raising $25k throughout the month of October,” Emily said.
“As with previous years we’re once again calling on our salon clients and customers to dress in pink on Pink Day – Saturday 18th October and also ask that they truly get into the fundraising spirit and decorate their salon or office space in pink. You can also offer your clients services such as pink toners and/or pink highlights!”
Salons have also received philanthropic materials such as NBCF balloons, NBCF donation boxes and pink scrunchies from Scrunchie Scrunch that were donated by owner, Chloe, to help raise awareness and funds and really get salons seeing and experiencing the Foil Me ‘Wise Up In Pink’ campaign. Salons are encouraged to raise awareness and post this extensive campaigning on social media. By tagging @foilmefoils #foilmefoils @nbcfaus and #wiseupinpink, they go in the draw to win an important secret prize.
