In partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation Australia (NBCF), ghd celebrated the launch of its 2023 Limited Edition Pink Collection with a Pilates class hosted for the media. The brand’s 19-year ongoing partnership with breast cancer charities worldwide has donated over $4.5M AUD to the cause. ghd’s 2023 pink campaign will be raising more funds for their breast cancer charity by donating $20 from every purchase of the new ghd pink limited-edition collection.
Hosted by Erin Holland at Body by Berner studio in Sydney’s picturesque North Bondi, key guests including media and influencers were treated to an intimate morning of mindful movement. This included an exclusive mat Pilates class followed by coffee and breakfast along with a panel discussion to reflect on the stories of those touched by breast cancer.
To ensure guests felt their best during the Pilates class, ghd partnered with Aje Athletica to gift guests a pink activewear set ahead of the day. Guests also had the opportunity to see the new collection first-hand at the pop-up ghd Style Bar showcasing the new collection.
Throughout the event, guests mingled over coffee prior to the Pilates session, touched up their hair, and then gathered for a panel discussion led by Erin Holland, with Karen Cox, head of marketing of ghd for Australia and New Zealand, CEO of the National Breast Cancer Foundation Cleola Anderiesz, Content Creator Isabella Clarke and Claudia Cataldo, Creative Director at Cataldos Hair Salon.
Claudia has been a hairdresser for 18 years and is the winner of the global L’Oréal Professionnel Style and Colour Trophy. She was kind enough to share her personal struggle with breast cancer with event attendees and spoke about the importance of regular breast checks. She announced the wonderful news that she and her partner are expecting a baby through a surrogate this year after a journey of not knowing if they would be able to have children of their own.
Isabella also shared her story and the importance of taking the time to see a GP. She noticed regular nipple leakage and put off seeing her doctor but soon realised after a call to her mum that it was in fact something that needed checking. After surgery and regular check-ups, she is in the clear. Isabella noted the importance of health coming first as a priority over a busy schedule, which was an important lesson for a room full of influential and busy women.
After the impactful panel, guests were encouraged to continue snacking on breakfast as they were treated to their very own tool from the 2023 pink collection. The 2023 Pink collection is a soft pink peach shade and offers five limited-edition tools as well as soft touch zip bags, all of which showcase the ‘Take Control Now’ slogan. The collection offers the ghd ghd platinum+™ straightener, ghd glide hot brush, ghd gold® professional styler and ghd helios™ lightweight professional hair dryer all in these shades, as well as the ghd unplugged™ cordless styler, which is in pink for the first time.
