It’s a tie! Two illustrious hairdressers have been dually named for the coveted title of Most International Covers for 2024, thanks to Hair Shots 2 the World. The prolific names of both Bill Tsiknaris and the Tsiknaris hair team in Brisbane and Dee Parker Attwood of Wieselmann Salon, Melbourne, both nabbed first place in this editorial task.
Both Tsiknaris Hair and Dee earned four covers each in the 39 covers achieved under the Hair Shots 2 the World umbrella in 2024. Many other hairdressers earned two and three covers as well.
“Late last year the outcome was not obvious, so we had to ensure that every 2024 covers had been received and verified before announcing the winners,” said Leanne Cutler of Hair Shots 2 The World.
“Bill is one of the pioneers of Australian hair fashion photography with great success stemming back to the 1990s, so it’s no surprise that his shoots for him and his team members have been a great success,” Leanne added. “Dee’s images always have enormous ‘wow’ factor that editors just love. Many are front-on with eyes to camera, which is favourable for covers but, having said that, profile images with strong cut, colour and styling can also be in the running.”
Bill Tsiknaris and the Tsiknaris Hair team were featured on covers twice in Argentina, once in Poland and once in France, while Dee was featured on covers in Asia, India, France and Germany, with images all by Australian photography leader Andrew O’Toole.
Other notable covers included two unique black and white images, one by 2024 BHA International Hairdresser of the Year, Jude McEwen from TONI&GUY Perth, and one courtesy of 2024 AHFA SA/TAS Haidresser of the Year, Caitlin Pallich, from Boris the Cuttery.
