The hairdressing industry is constantly innovating, and a new launch in Australia may present one of its biggest innovations yet. The Calligraphy Pen is now available on our shores, debuting to the industry at an exclusive event in Perth. The unique and revolutionary tool was unveiled by its Global Creative Director Jas Jhally, with support from industry legend Maurice Meade.
“The launch of the Calligraphy Pen – The 21 – was a huge success,” Jas said. “Its capability was on show for the select stylists we invited on the night and guests saw for themselves how it cuts on a specific 21° angle. Stylists were able to see how adding this exclusive cutting tool to their repertoire not only enables them to shape hair perfectly, it elevates them to greatness in their profession, and this shone through at the launch event.”
Jas has used over 30 years of experience to share the tool with the global industry, travelling over the past year to launch the tool internationally. The tool took six years to develop, as spearheaded by German-based stylist Frank Bormann, with technology utilised to ensure the tool cuts hair at a unique angle for a heathy, full look. It also prevents split ends, eliminates breakage and burning and offers a precise, angular cut. Education is paramount and the tool can only be purchased after a two-day master training class.
“We are only now just rolling this technology out in Australia and when artists see what The 21 can do and how it creates styles with 270 per cent additional movement, no one is going to want to be left behind,” Jas said. “That said, we only want a limited number of salons to be licensed to use The 21, this is an exclusive tool and it is very much by invitation only. This exclusive technology brings lightness, softness, flexibility and brilliance to the hair; it’s the master artistic tool for the 21st century.”
