Just Cuts is supporting Australian families facing blood cancer by partnering with the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave in 2024 and through to 2025.
The collaboration included Just Cuts CEO Amber Manning and Just Cuts hairdressers attending the 2024 campaign launch at Madame Tussauds in Sydney’s Darling Harbour this month. Stylists from Just Cuts Campbelltown, Corrimal and Wollongong volunteered their time to host a shave, cut and colour activation on Thursday and Friday for the public to elevate the national drive for blood cancer awareness and donations.
“It’s a heart-breaking reality that Australia loses 16 people to blood cancer every day. That’s 16 mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, siblings, and grandparents. 16 families that lose someone they love to blood cancer,” said Amber, who coloured her hair pink and purple to raise awareness. “We’re excited to partner with the World’s Greatest shave to help drive progress on their mission towards zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035.”
“Just Cuts is a family-owned brand made up of small family-owned businesses that have styled and supported families of clients across multiple generations. As a family focused brand, our Stylists are so proud to be helping to make a difference in the lives of people impacted by blood cancer.”
The Leukaemia Foundation offers practical and emotional support services to patients and families, including funding game-changing blood cancer research. Blood cancer is unfortunately on the rise, with instances escalating by 47 per cent in Australia over the past decade, making this work especially crucial. Since 2000, the Leukaemia Foundation has funded over 360 blood cancer research grants, representing over $86.5 million in blood cancer research funding in today’s current dollar value.
“By participating in the World’s Greatest Shave with a shave, cut, or colour, you can help shape a brighter future for blood cancer patients and their families,” Amber shared. “The World’s Greatest Shave is your perfect excuse to get that ‘other’ hairstyle you’ve always wanted. Whether you choose mullets, mohawks, full fringes or flat tops, anyone can get cut, coloured and shaved and transform their head into a billboard for blood cancer support and research.”
