Just Cuts and JUSTICE Haircare supported an important cause over International Women’s Day in March, donating to Lifeline to support essential work in helping women experience domestic and family violence.
The initiative supports a cause that saw 102 Australian women and 16 children lose their life to domestic violence in 2024. Supporting Lifeline further supports education programs that help small businesses, workers, and the public recognise, respond to and refer cases of domestic and family violence including through its DV Alert service. MensLine Australia is a professional 24/7 counselling service for men struggling with mental health, family violence, anger management, addiction, and relationship stress, and this cause aids that pillar as well.
“International Women’s Day is a time to recognise progress, but also to acknowledge that far too many women and children in Australia are still at risk. That’s why we want to invest in tangible action by supporting organisations like Lifeline that are making a real difference every day,” shared David Mathie, Acting CEO of Just Cuts.
“With 54 per cent of Just Cuts franchise owners identifying as women and 95 per cent of our 3,500 Stylists being female, Just Cuts is proud to have always championed gender equality. The company remains committed to pay parity, ensuring all Stylists receive equal wages across the levels of career progression regardless of gender,” he added. “Equality isn’t just about career opportunities or leadership roles—it’s also about safety, financial security, and access to support. This International Women’s Day, we stand with those who need help the most and encourage others to do the same.”
