TIGI partnered up with Sydney based brand Pereira Fitzgerald to create effortless femme waves down the runway for their Resort 19 collection at MBFWA, writes Ida Almasi.
Directed by Michele McQuillan, the hair was inspired by the luxurious designs, allowing natural movement and a polished finish.
“The clothes are quite luxurious yet made for everyday so we wanted the hair to be effortless and off the shoulder to allow the clothes and femininity to shine through,” said Michele McQuillan for TIGI.
The collection is very much an ode to the feminine, in particular in the duality of its softness and the strength of the cuts. “We have mirrored this in Resort 19 with a combination of delicate fabrications and finishes, contrasted by dramatic elongated silhouettes and super sharp tailoring,” said Gabriella Pereira, one half of the design duo behind the brand.
“We feel that women generally see power dressing as embodying masculine characteristics,” continued partner Gemma Fitzgerald. “This Pereira Fitzgerald collection turns this concept on its head, we are all for embracing our femininity and finding confidence and power within it.”
Get the look:
- Prep hair with TIGI Queen for the Day, centre part and blast dry hair.
- Using a medium tong, curl hair diagonally from mid-lengths and ends at irregular vertical sections to create movement.
- At the root spritz TIGI Oh Bee Hive dry shampoo for texture around the hairline.
- Brush curls through to break up their shape, using fingers to take either Joyride or Afterparty balms through the ends
- Finish hair with TIGI Flexi Head and Headrush for a luxe finish with hold and movement
