Seven national finalists have been announced in the third annual Color Outside The Lines competition for Paul Mitchell. They are now in the running to win the grand prize trip to Las Vegas for Paul Mitchell The Gathering 2018. Hundreds of entries were received from around the country, and the final seven were chosen amidst very tough competition.
“We were overwhelmed with the number of entries the competition received this year,” shared Paul Mitchell Managing Director John Pizzey. “With such a large number of incredible images to choose from it was near impossible to select just four finalists, leading us to extend the total number of national finalists to seven. The ease of entry encouraged a greater number of salons and stylists to enter and share their amazing colour work.”
This year the entry processe was changed whereby colourists could enter their work via Instagram, ensuring there was no need for a costly professional shoot. This led to a record number of entries in the competition.
The looks were created to showcase the brand’s focus on commercial fashion trends and natural tones, all utilising only Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Color and Paul Mitchell styling products.
The finalists were selected by a judging panel and the winner will now be chosen from a social media competition hosted on the Paul Mitchell Instagram page, maintaining the brand and the competition’s strong emphasis on social media. Viewers can vote for their preferred finalist by liking their entry on the official social media channel. Public voting closes on Sunday May 6th at 8pm.
Congratulations to the finalists and good luck in your journey to Vegas. To everyone else, remember to jump online and support the colourist and colour work that inspires you.
