An all-new salon has made its way onto Sydney’s Northern Beaches, with Auréa Studios building on salon owner Bethany Long’s seven years of experience to become her own bespoke salon space in Manly. The intimate space offers Bethany’s talents one-on-one for clients looking for a boutique environment and exceptionally personalised services.
Drawing from Beth’s tutelage in various salons across the Northern Beaches, and extending to editorial shoots from publications such as a Harper’s BAZAAR cover shoot and work backstage at Australian Fashion Week, Auréa Studios looms as the next important phase in Beth’s career.
We spoke to Beth about the space, its services, its hero products and beyond.
What is the origin story of your salon?
I opened Auréa Studios to create a space where hairdressing feels personal and relaxed. After years in busy salons, I wanted to design a one-on-one experience where clients could truly enjoy their time and leave feeling amazing.
What are the major design elements?
The salon has a cozy, European vibe with unique touches like copper piping and a record wall. There’s a lot to catch your eye, but it all comes together to create a comfortable, lived-in feel.
What is your point of difference?
It’s just me in the salon, so every appointment is completely one-on-one. I’ve designed it to be a space where you can relax and enjoy personalised service without any distractions.
What are your hero products?
The Revlon Professional Restart Balayage Care Cream is a standout for me. It has a built-in bonding system that helps protect colour long-term, making it perfect for maintaining healthy, beautiful hair after a colour service.
What are your hero services?
My most popular service is the lived-in blonde. It’s a unique approach I’ve developed over the years, blending different techniques to create a super blonde look that grows out seamlessly. It gives the brightness clients love without the harsh regrowth line—just soft, natural-looking transitions.
