Iconic hair salon and education brand Sassoon are inspiring from London, with a new academy, studio and salon concept at Greek Street, Soho, titled House Of Sassoon. The hybrid space will also host an exclusive members club and a dedicated ambassador programme to usher in a new era for the famous salon institution.
“The House of Sassoon allows us the opportunity to create a community for Sassoon enthusiasts, with a shared education and workspace available to all, from beginner students to seasoned professionals,” said Debbie Webster, Global Sassoon CEO. “We believe strongly in the brand ethos and are investing over £10m in this exciting new venture. Opening is planned for late spring/summer 2023 in London and Beverly Hills, CA simultaneously. We are excited for the future of the brand and look forward to sharing it with you.”
The London space features an elegant Georgian façade and has been a longstanding fashion haven, with previous tenants including included Central Saint Martin Fashion College and Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design, all in the centre of globally renowned Soho.
The five-floor space include a large reception area with a dedicated retail space that houses a complete range of professional tools and educational materials, a front facing salon on the ground floor and a staff training programme for students to be educated before they work in the international Sassoon salons. The salon will have a minimalist, clean and contemporary design, with a simple colour palette that captures the energy of the Sassoon brand in a streamlined way. The salon is connected to a multimedia theatre space with seating for a 120-strong audience to be used for hair and fashion shows, with the ability to cater for up to 20 fully qualified professionals and up to 20 Diploma students in an open plan environment.
The other four levels of the building will accommodate a range of other activities, including education courses in purpose-built classrooms, freelance spaces and open plan office space for Academy and Salon administration.
