Sustainable Salons has unveiled a refreshed brand in line with the organisation’s growth and commitment to creating a more sustainable future through the pillars of people, planet and profit in the hairdressing industry.
The refresh has been in development for close to a year, and will showcase the organisation’s role in servicing the hair, dermal, beauty, barber and pet grooming industries to elevate sustainability and philanthropy. The organsiation partnered with sustainable service providers to realise this refresh, in line with its values.
Feature of the rebrand include a new website that is now mobile-friendly and accessible to those with vision or hearing impairments, dyslexia, epilepsy or other accessibility needs. Furthering their commitment to inclusivity, new gender-neutral avatars represent the people within the Sustainable Salons network of all nationalities, sexualities, abilities and backgrounds.
The organisation has also made changes to its nationally leading Salon Directory. The Salon Directory now includes more member information as well as links to social media and an option to include imagery, facilitating more relationships between salons and conscious consumers. The directory currently lists more than 1500 Sustainable Salon members, with more being added regularly.
The refresh further elevates Sustainable Salons’ dedication to a circular economy, building on its reputation as the number one donor of ponytails for charitable wigs, with over 240,387 ponytails collected to date. Sustainable Salons diverts up to 95 per cent of resources recovered from its members from landfill to support a closed-loop production model.
“We continue to embrace a circular economy by recognising the value of the materials we recover, whether we transform them into closed-loop products, donate proceeds to people in need, embrace a workforce with disability or contribute to restoring confidence to people suffering from medically-induced hair loss through our ponytail donation program,” shared Paul Frasca and Ewelina Soroko, Sustainable Salons Co-Founders.
