The Sloans team won the title of Creative Team of the Year at the 2023 Australian Hair Industry Awards for their collection. The group of images “explores this multifaceted artist and pays tribute to an absolute icon, Dame Vivienne Westwood”, the team said on social media.
The collection, fittingly titled Westwood, was also nominated in the category of BTS Dream Team of the Year. It was a stellar year for Sloans, who also had multiple nominations for New Creative Talent of the Year and the HOTSHOTS Team, of which Anne Russell won a nod for both.
The collection, photographed by David Mannah, with makeup by Chereine Waddell and styling by Josie McManus, merges bold and eclectic beauty and fashion with Avant Garde hair shapes, details, braids and layers. The images inspire by fusing editorial artistry with a unique take on hair creation, as classic aesthetics and vivid new age modernity clash and intertwine.
