Melbourne based business and life partners Jamie Furlan and Danielle Solier are back with another captivating collection. Introducing the Jagged Terrain collection, which is inspired by the Japanese view of Wabi Sabi, otherwise described as the authentic acknowledgment of key realities – namely that nothing lasts, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect. This bold concept is encapsulated through the duo’s creative approach to hair.
Jamie and Danielle utilise asymmetry and irregularity, minimalism and simplicity, as well as the appreciation of natural elements in conveying these Buddhist teachings. The duo used these principles to showcase the hidden beauty within imperfect, incomplete and irregular shapes and forms. Blunt cuts and unique, mountainous volume are set against minimal structures and the use of positive and negative space. The sense of a dehydrated landscape, patched earth and the aesthetic of dust, thirst and heat permeate every image.
Neutral fashion styling, earthy hair colour and graphic hair styling ensure a multi-dimensional, conceptual and strong collection. View the images below.
