The retro photoshoot of your dreams – including important modern creative elements – is here via Hooker and Young. Think bright colours, quirky poses and diverse cuts from the international salon group.
“Our collection is called School Yearbook and is based on a 1970s yearbook,” said hairdressers Sophie Gibson and Jonathan Turner. “It was important to us that we made sure each image had its own individuality. We achieved this by giving each model their own character and really thought about how they would wear their hair, how they might dress and how they might feel as a woman. We then brought the collection together by giving each model a pair of wide and chunky glasses. The collection is all about having fun, creating a feeling of joy and, most importantly, celebrating individuality.”
Hero looks include a purple buzz cut, long grey hair that is the ideal encapsulation of the never-ending granny hair trend, wild pink curls and a new take on the mullet. Each look, accessorised and stylised to perfection, reminds us of the most artistic, nostalgic aspects of yesteryear, in the best way possible.
